Ingredients you'll need

  • 400g tofu, cut into slices
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or another sweetener)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2 cloves minced garlic (optional)

Let's get cookin'

  1. Cut the tofu into slices.
  2. In a container, combine the soy sauce, water, vinegar, maple syrup, sesame seeds, chopped green onions, chili flakes, and minced garlic (if using).
  3. Place the tofu slices in the container with the marinade.
  4. Make sure all the tofu is well covered with the marinade.
  5. Close the container and refrigerate for a few hours, or preferably overnight.
  6. The longer it marinates, the better the flavor. This can last in the fridge for 4-5 days.
  7. Serve as a side dish, snack, or over rice.
