Ingredients you'll need

For the Shredded Tofu:
  • 400g firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
For the Sauce:
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
For the Tomato Salsa:
  • A bunch of cilantro (or parsley)
  • tomatos
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
For Serving:
  • Tortillas

Let's get cookin'

  1. Pat tofu dry and shredd with grater or simply crumble in your hands.
  2. Mix Soy Sauce, Oil, Cumin, Paprika and salt to taste and toss the tofu in the marinade.
  3. Then spread on baking sheet and bake at 175°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes. Give it a stir every now and then.
  4. Fry onion and garlic. When the tofu is crispy, transfer to pan and coat with Hoisin Sauce and Tomato paste and stir well. Add spices according to taste.
  5. Chop tomatoes, parsley/cilantro and mix with Oil and fresh lime jiuce.
  6. Now assemble everything on a tortilla, roll up and enjoy.
