Everyone loves shawarma but did you know you could make your own with mushrooms? I made this together wie my good friend @alfiecooks. One of my favorite collabs yet.

Ingredients you'll need

  • 600g oyster mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp each garlic granules, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • salt pepper
  • sliced tomato cucumber red onion fresh parsley
  • tahini
  • tzatziki
  • Let's get cookin'

    1. Sear mushrooms in hot pan by weighing down
    2. Sprinkle both sides with spice mix, keep searing until golden-brown
    3. Mix rest of spice mix with oil and lemon juice, coat mushrooms well
    4. Put on skewers to create shawarma
    5. Roast at 200C/400F for 30mins brushing with marinade occasionally
    6. Slice shawarma, prepare salad sauces
    7. Warm wraps, assemble and enjoy.
